Hey,
I'm currently playing an open source RTS called Spring.
Spring includes a few AI players that do quite well in managing all units in general, but I noticed individual units perform quite bad.
I discovered that with simple things like keeping your units apart and moving you can increase their chance of surviving significantly.
Consider a basic unit like the plasma kbot, all it does without a lot of micro management is walking straight towards it's enemy, stand still and shoot.
I can beat a much stronger unit if I just keep walking around it, but such a thing is not easy to manage for more that 3 units.
Since you guys write bots that do this individual stuff all day, I was wondering if some of you might be interested in writing/porting some clever targeting and moving for Spring bots.
Spring includes a Java AI interface and helper AIs can be written in Lua.
Bye,
Pepijn
